I would first just like to say Captain Spaldin that the Tigers didn't "split" with the White Sox, they definately lost that series and gave the Sox 3 of the 5 games.
YA THAT'S RIGHT!

It amazes me that Skankee fans are giddy when 6.5 games out, what's their payroll at 250 million or something? Everyone on here always says well they play in the very tough A.L. East. Excuse me? D'Rays- Perennial last place team (no offense though they got some great young players). Orioles- Said to be worst managerial job in the majors. Outside of Bedard and Tejada, name me an All-Star. Brian Roberts was a pity vote because Baltimore has no one else. Blue Jays- The only decent team outside of Boston and New York in the division. They only have 1 quality starter, Halladay, who by the way is struggling. They only have 1 consistent hitter, Rios. Vernon Wells and Troy Glaus are good players but they have been sucking this year. Aaron Hill WAS a nice surprise, but now he's down to earth. Oh, but they do have a great closer!!!
Honeslty, the A.L. East is the Skanks and Sawx with no other competition, how with a 250 mil payroll are you NINE games out of first?! The BoSox are being productive with their huge payroll why can't the Skanks do it?

By the way George, I've been meaning to ask you why you continuously call us the whiney sux. Is that the best you got? What exactly makes us whiney? When was our last title, 2005? YA OK...1984, jeez most of the idiots on this site that post dumb Q/A's weren't even born yet!

They come within 6.5 games of 1st. place and suddenly many Yankee fans are coming on this site bragging and taunting like typical low class Yankee fans do. Then the lead builds back up to 9 games and those same fans disappear. Besides, with that $250 million dollar payroll, they should've been 6.5 up instead of 6.5 down. Don't start trash talking until you come within 2 or maybe 3 games.

They're still only 5.5 games behind the mighty Detroit Tigers. I don't blame you though for being so excited about the Yankees losing, the Tigers aren't doing much these days. They lose 2 of 3 to the lowly Royals. Then they split with a terrible White Sox team. Now they're about to be swept by the Angels. I guess when you're a Detroit fan, you have to get used to finding happiness anywhere you can.

As a Sox fan, the yankees have become fun to watch, as the lose 2 of 2 to the orioles, and will probably get swept tonight, while the sox will sweep the d-rays, 10 games by tomorrow.
