They could survive, as the amputation would cause the body to sort of self seal the wound.
However, they could die from other things:
Shock (as in blood loss and heart failure) 1hr -8 hrs or so
Infection 1 day to indefinately
Being unable to urinate - at a guess 2 to 3 weeks until death
The pure shame (for me this would be instant)

They might not die from this procedure.
In fact, as a student I participated in an operation to cut a guy's penis off. He had a nasty skin cancer there that was going to invade into the rest of his body.
He recovered fully.
I haven't seen him lately and if he didn't change his habits he would have died of something else by now, but it wouldn't have been due to the actual operation.

if it's just the penis,he may live, but if you cut off EVERYTHING (like in Hostel 2),he'd die in minutes because the scrotum contains main arteries

well first of all i wouldn't test it, but i heard with an erection you wouldn't last long at all because all the blood is pumping into it. but without one it would take until you realized what happened to die inside, but you would probably live.

I do not know, but I guarantee I would live longer then the person who did the cutting.

Depends if they stop the bleeding or not, if he stops the bleeding and gets to hospital he will most likely live,a nd you can bet he's gonna real pissed at you.
