I wish people would think before they write.

You want the "BEST" all in one printer in your header. Later on you show a cap in the price you are willing to pay. Best is a meaningless term. Best in regards to what? Do you want high speed printing and low speed scanning or vice versa? Do you want color printing and scanning or black and white?

First draw up a list of what you want the unit to do. Then prioritize it because you cannot get everything.

Now check models out and select from there.

No matter what anyone else suggests it will not fit your needs.

It is adviseable to have a all-in-one printer if you are not asking for high quality printing.

It really save a lot of money because you don't need to buy the items individually.

My HP PSC 1110 gives a decent performance in printing, scanning and copy.

For the budget, I can't give you any advice because I am from Asia.

I bought the HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One Printer for my sister a month ago - cheap, full-featured and easy to use and the price is amazing. It's also very compact for an all-in-one printer.; my sister has it on her desk, next to her monitor. It also comes with Vista drivers on a separate cd just in case you're thinking of upgrading at a later date. It's currently topping PC Advisor's list of budget printers. Tip: get yourself a usb cable as one isn't included :(
