One manufacturer that doesnt appear to be on this list is Triumph. Thats classic British motoring at its best with a massive following of enthusiasts and hundreds of restoration and part suppliers knocking around. Purchase yourself a good condition Spitfire and youve got a 1500cc rear wheel drive power house thats as fun to drive as any modern day sports car as long as you are looking for leisurely pace rather than super car power. That being said there is plenty of torque to be had from that little engine but if you do need more there are many 2 litre conversions around and if you are lucky you might even find one with a supercharger which when surrounded by a super light chassis and a few lightweight items such as the bonnet and boot lid you will be showing up some of the lower spec sports cars of today in no time. with advertising campaigns featuring bond like characters and scantily clad women its no wonder this was one of the most popular and sought after sports cars of its era. Take a look at one now on the net and you will see what all the fuss was about. Smooth curves and nice lines are only part of the story. Search carefully for one that has been used for classic hill climbing events and you are in for a real treat of looks, power and classic car mayhem!

Silver Spur. Rolls Royce cars are about the best of the British cars Bentley being a close second. In America we rip out the 6 cyl out of the Jag sedan and replace it with a Chevy V-8 . Then they are more reliable.

Having a winge with Adam about missing makes - where is the M.G.?
That has to be the "best" for me simply because of memories from the 50's - a very dear old friend rebuilt one and I learned a lot about the car just sitting, watching him in his garage for about 2 years.

well it has to be the 1960 Aston Martin DB4, the most beautifull classic car in the world I'd choose that over any car of the 50's or 60's even over my favorite 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
