I was once told: "They can take away your house, your furniture, your job, everything, but the one thing they can never take away is your education. Stay in school." Very sage advice indeed and I urge all young people to remember those words.
Enjoy your day

the clean undewear ' thing ' was pride --- if you had an accident 'and the medicos had to look after you --- what could be worse than having soiled underwear lol !
billy connely had a comment on this very subject --- big time !!
but look mother used to tell us many things that were neither right or wrong --- but one thing is for sure --- we showed her respect and were far better for that alone --- no one respects anyone for any thing and no credit is given for advice --- sad ; sad very sad !
good luck

Start raising your kids from the blanket up. Believe me that works I have a 19 year old and he has never given me problems. Don't run with a bad crowd. And always put God first. And believe me that works also. Iost my mother to cancer and without God in my life I couldn't have gotten through it, or the loss of my father either.

you are not the only person in the world - yeah, like i know, mum; the aged parent is 80 and still going strong as they took her into hospital last year and gave her more medical aid than a small african village gets in a year so i am due to hear this at least another ten thousand times.

"Be Aware."
I know I've written about this so many times on here.... but I can't pass this advice on enough. My mother always always preached to me about being aware of all things going on around me... always. To be aware of other people.... of their feelings..... of their ideas..... of their needs..... of the environment...... of dangers...... of change....... of so much. When you are aware of other things, you tend to put them before yourself and to be honest..... that is how you learn to love. So once I figured all of that out...... I realized just how wise my mother truely was.
Of course as I always told my kids to "Be Aware" they finally told me when they were old enough that as little kids they thought I was saying, "BEWARE!" and they were scared to death of me! lol (oh great..... *smacks head*) I guess mom was wiser than her daughter. lol

"Don't ever do anything that would embarrass you or make you ashamed of yourself if you were found out". It was the best advice anyone ever gave me.
