Yes it's okay to have several anti-spyware programs. the more, the better.

The rule is
1 anti-virus
1 firewall
as many anti-spyware as you want or can update & run

I know you've had many answers, some of them conflicting, but my experience over the years is: definitely one only Anti-virus program, 1 firewall, but most definitely more than one antispyware because I haven't found one yet that does the job.

It is not adviseable to have multiple AntiSpyware products:( This can terriblely slow down your computer:( One or two good AntiSpyware products are good enough. The other way is to use online virus scan when you have AntiSpyware products. Some online virus scan is quite superior:)

You may try Panda Software online virus scan:)

Most anti spyware programs can run side by side. but if they ave real time protection some will conflict with each other if they both detact it at the same time.

best things to do is enable just one programs real time protection and use the other to scan my hand. you can then scan your system every week or 2 and see if there is any the primary scanner missed

You bet it is! The more the merrier. I keep 5 of them of my comp:

Spybot S&D
Ad-Aware 2007
Webroot Spy Sweeper
Windows Defender
HijackThis

And all of that along with Norton Internet Security. lol, I know that probably sounds like overkill, but I always like to be super careful with my computers. :)

Spywareblaster (update and enable protection)
http://www.filehippo.com/download_spywareblaster/
Active Security Monitor (monitors your system for vulnerabilities)

as long as the onguard portion of the a/s is not on you can have as many as you like.
in other words dont keep but one running on the computer. or shut down all online guards and just run manual scans at separate times.

no not a good idea, just find one good one. because if you have more then one on your computer they try and over ride eachother and make your PC frezz up and then you will have to have pay an computer expert to fix it and cost you heaps of money.
