Hello and thanks for your help in advance. My current rig which I may be able to sell for $800

AMD Athlon X2 5200+
Gigabyte M55SLI-S4 Mobo
2GB ampX DDR2 800 RAM
geforce 7950GT

If I can sell my current one, I will be getting:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (new 1333 fsb speed)
Gigabyte P35-DS3R mobo
2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800
EVGA 8800GTX (OOOOOOOO BABY)

so my question is do you think I should wait a little bit and get tommorow's technology i.e. is there anything worth waiting for within the next month or two like price drops/introduction of new stuff? Thanks a lot

Honestly I would wait a little bit, simply because that is not that huge of an upgrade. The processor is a little bit faster, but nothing you will even notice unless you have your stopwatch out. The RAM is pretty much the same. The graphics card is a fairly good upgrade, but unless you are having games right now that are lagging, you might just wait a while because there should be new graphics cards out within the next few months that will be much faster than the 8800GTX.

If you sell your current one and get the new one I would say thats a pretty sweet rig u got there. It actually all depends on what u are doing, if you are a gamer then its fine, but if you are using it for everyday browsing and just office work and stuff like that then it isnt nessesary. But dude there u got a pretty clean Working computer, One thing i have to say is What PSU will it have? I would say run a maybe 800 Watt PSU, im running a 1000 watt on mine since i will be putting a 2 8800 Ultra's in SLI, and ill be getting an Intel Quad core 2 CPU and 1TB of storage, but hey thats just me, because i want my computer to last forever, so all im gonna have to change is the Vid card from time to time.

If you're in a rush get it, otherwise wait. AMD is releasing its QUAD CORE shorly and it may lay the smackdown on the new INtel C2d's. It may also cause a price drop.

Rockin...I'd stay away from Ballistix memory. They have a habit of going bad after a month or so. It's cheep but it won't last. Gotta love that FSB.

Good Luck.
