I would like to know what were some of the similiarities and differences of the goals for the enlightenment and the scientific revolution.

Both "movements" were outgrowths of modernity, being the ascension of man over nature and eventually even god as the source of final authority.

The difference is that the enlightenment was largely an intelectual persuit, of ideas, while the scientific revolution focused more on the concrete day-to-day improvement of life on earth.
