I would like to move to Finsbury park as it seems a bit cheaper than some of the nearby areas like Crouch End. I had heard that crime could be a problem there though.

It is cheaper for a reason. Don't live round there, it is not a nice area around the station.
Crouch Hill isn't too bad, that's about half way between Crouch End and Finsbury Park. North of Upper Tollington Road.

Unfortunately, I lived in this area for just over a year and although the area is full of all sorts of people from different cultural backgrounds I find the area somewhat shabby and at times dangerous. My flat was broken into six times in one year even though I had a security system installed. I also found that on days when events were taking place in nearby Finsbury Park it was a nightmare for travel arrangements. On the who I wouldn't advise moving to Finsbury Park but that's my personal opinion.

Depends what you're after - its a younger more interesting place. And crime is a problem all over London - come to Finsbury Park and see if you feel safe
