My friends have been talking about a teaser trailer they seen before Transformers which involves someone making a home movie at a party, the lights going out, then an explosion and the Statue of Liberty's head flying off.
Does anyone know what the trailer is for, or where I can see it?

Cloverfield is the working title. It's a JJ Abrams movie. The actual title is supposed to be announced at Comicon.

It's code named "Clover Field". Hasn't been named yet.
It comes out in theaters 1-18-08.
The trailer seems to have a "War of the Worlds", "Independence Day", "Godzilla", "Ghostbusters" kinda mix to it, with the Home Video action of the "Blair Witch Project".
I guess they are saying the whole movie is shot this way, if not at least just the movie intro.

"Cloverfield" is the code name of an upcoming science fiction film produced by J. J. Abrams, directed by Matt Reeves, and written by Drew Goddard. First publicized in advance screenings of Transformers, the secret project is slated for a January 18, 2008 release. Paramount is carrying out a viral marketing campaign to promote the film.
