just get the Ps360 its the best except for the PS in the front

i prefer the 360 because the online is so much better and more organized then psx and its worth the $50 a year and no matter how hard sony claims that in a few years the online for the ps3 will be better the live its all lies. you can change out the recharg packs when the controllers power dies becuase once the ions in the ps3's rechargable controller dies after every charge you can;t change out the packs you have to spend more money on a new controller :( and its a better value you get more games and better versions of games then on a $600 console and how many people actually use the blu-ray player for blu-ray movies i know i don't i prefer the $15 dvd's to the $30 blu-rays and hd-dvd's are dead

100% xbox 360, if you get a ps3 now you will probably have nothing to play till 2008 or around Christmas (if then, depending on the type of games you like) the ps3 may have better graphics but it isn't showing it at the moment since most games are being made on 360 first then being brought over to the ps3, they are actually looking better ( that will probably change) anyways putting all that aside, i am guessing your buying the console for games? so the bluray player shouldn't matter too much. so just for the amount of games on the 360 it has to be the much better choice (along with the much better online play) ect..

final note: 360's have a high faliure rate, they should have fixed it by now but still be cautious (a guy went through around 12 of em...).

PS3
simply, it's the better designed system. It costs more, initially, but that's it for the 'con' column. On the 360, once you've paid for your online service, batteries for your controller, HD-DVD add-on if you want it.
The supposed lack of games (there are plenty and once the usual summer drought ends there's tons coming) and poorer online service (getting better all the time, especially if 'Home' is as good as suggested) are very short-term considerations.
Down the road, expect PS3 games to make use of the Blu-ray discs, for bigger/ more detailed games. As Microsoft have said they will only ship games on DVD, there will have to be compromises made (either less features, disc swapping, reduced quality graphics, etc)
