I was wondering if anyone would know why I would have cramps like I am having a menstrual cycle but nothing is there. Its almost a phantom cycle or something. But because of when I experience these cramps I have usually already had my cycle. Sometimes I have skipped a cycle, but I would experience menstrual during the time I am suppose to have a cycle. I have had a transvaginal sonogram and he said everything looked good, my pap smear came back fine as well. I go to the Dr. on the 8th of next month for blood tests. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Am I experiencing bad PMS, normally I have not been experiencing PMS until about I week before my cycle. But this feeling come and goes through out the month and when I am having PMS I will keep experiencing discomfort until I finally have my cycle. What is up with this? Another thing is I am not currently taking any Birth control pills and I have not been for about 2 years.

Things like cysts and in some cases endometriosis can cause the kind of pain you are having. In relation to cysts sometimes they don't always show up on ultrasound (I've had it happen to me).

I would recommend consulting a gynecologist if you haven't already to see what they say.

If you have and the results still show normal I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor that you currently see.
