Unfortanately my wife and I are getting a divorce. Were in the paperwork and filing stages. This is a no-fault divorce. I went to war and we grew to be to seperate people. Long-distance relationships suck but long-distance marriage will tear you apart. We talk to eachother in a civilized manner, we split everything with no fighting.

But now we have 2 new sets of friends hers and mine. I know nothing about her friends and she doesn't know mine. How soon is to soon to start dating for both her and I. I know we've both thought about it... and do you think it will help you move on.

Why not wait until the divorce is final and then start dating? It will make it much much easier for you to explain your marital status to whomever you date.
You're eager to move on but you can wait a little while longer. It's a no-fault divorce and you shouldn't have much trouble getting it finalized.
Whatever she wants to do about dating is not even your concern now. The issue is really with the people you date. Keep your record clean and only date when you are legally a single man. You'll feel better about it and so will your dates.

Yours is a little different than most. If the paperwork is filed and you both are heading opposite directions, there is no real reason for not dating now. Just leave the girlfriend/boyfriend home when dealing with the spouse.

It's always good to wait a full year before jumping into a serious relationship after divorce. Usually by then the anger and hurt has gone away and then they realize they have made a mistake by divorcing.

Moving on is always a nice thought if your really over things with your ex. Take things slow don't find yourself in a rebound and end up hurting somebody else's feelings because you weren't over your ex. Sometimes being alone is the best medication, try and find yourself again and what you really want out of relationship or marriage.

I think you should wait one month for every year you were married. Two years of marriage, wait two months. Twelve years of marriage, wait one year. That gives you some time to grieve and pull yourself together. You don't have to date until you want to, but it's also weird if you file the paperwork and start dating within a week.

it's too early, is the promise you made in the altar just bitter words said? You made a promise to God, in front of the altar, The only thing that can separate both of you is death

It's always too early.

Divorce should be outlawed for the most part. You made vows to stay together - stick by them.
