Sure The Goonies have the numbers, but other than that it's pretty even. And in my opinion The Monster Squad faced and conquered much greater odds.

Monster Squad.. come on they even made their own Silver Bullets!.. and they had a scary German Guy to help.. And with a line like "wolfman's got nards".. you have to know they got really close.... The goonies didn't really do all that much if you think about it.. (although I love that the movie just as much as monster squad)
with the new edition of M.S out now it's even more to their side.. the Goonies really did almost nothing until their DVD came out.. when you were finally able to see some of the scenes that were cut.. such as the Octupuss that was mentioned but never shown previously.. even with that however.. they never made their own weapons by hand, made a real PLAN, or... well anything really.. they wanted money, and they reacted to what happened to them at any moment..

With Frankenstein on their side, gotta be the monster squad. Good to see somebody else with love for that movie

i loved them both, but i would have to say it's a draw between them. sure the monster squad fought against dracula, wolfman, mummy, and the aquaman....but the goonies fought against the fratelli's, ontop of having to put up with chunk. yea it would definately be close.
