Its just fine, I have 9 month old twins, one of them slept in her swing and the other in her rocker for the first 4 months, not only for naps but through the night as well. It was actually what the doctor reccomended because they had acid reflux and would vomit a lot through the night, if they weren't in an upright position they would choke. If your baby is comfortable and that is where he sleeps well then continue to use the rocker it won't do him any harm.

My son used to nap in his bouncer chair and swing at that age, I dont think there is anything wrong with that. He is now 6 years old and completely healthy. I would just make sure the baby is not in the rocker for hours and hours on end. A few hours to take a nap will not hurt.

Honestly it depends how long the baby is in there ... Its not the back that I would be worried about ... more about the neck support.. are you reclining the seat as the baby is sleeping.. I tried to find some information in my Parent As Teachers binder but I was unsuccessful.. If something is bad for your back.. when you wake up you will be in some type of discomfort.. Sorry mom, society has come along ways and its not like how it was 18 years ago.. honestly not even 5 years.. good luck..

Are you kidding. Babies are most settled when they are curled up in that foetal like position and no-body would buy baby rockers if they were at all bad for them. I'm sure your Mum's heart is in the right place. Sometimes Mum's can just be a little too helpful and over opinionated.

It will be fine. My daughters would only sleep in there bouncy for nap time when they were around 2 months. They are just fine one is 2 and the other 5 months. Good luck with the parenting.

Dont listen to those who say it is bad! All mine were in the rocker. But i also gave them tummy time and floor time. I had one of mine in there during the day as she was a lend and prevented her having the acid burn her throat after a feed. Please trust yourself in you being a parent.

Just like when people say formula is no good for children. Bull my kids were fine on it and the ones that were breast feed for 3 months rathered the formula as they were more full. Or no heavy lifting or to much excerise. I was doing the mowing the day before i had my last child and with the twins jumping on trampolines. I am not a bad mum but i knew that was not going to harm by children as the are protected in the womb (except if i fell off)
My point is people say dont but people in 100 years ago didnt know much and we all turned out fine.

I read that constant movement isn't good while they nap because it interferes with deep sleep and growth. Just don't have it on vibrate. But, if he's comfy it should be okay. Just don't do it all the time. I can see how it might stress his lower back a little. I had my son in his swing a lot when he napped until my doctor told me not to do it.

is it a rocking chair like has a sway in the bottom? if it is , she may be right. you know how the dr. will tell you dont let the baby lay in the same position for hours on hours cause their little bones are shaping now.& you don't want their head to be mishaped,,you know, nothing, weird or nothing,,.they are just tender & small.right now, while their so little, i wouldnt leave him there very long..& soon he's gonna be rolling over sometimes mom's are right...

Dont worry yourself over that, my sons favorite was the swing and he napped in there for the longest time. It's not going to hurt anything to take naps in there. Good luck to you!
