An iguana is going to cost you alot of money to properly care for it. They need special lights, special diet and a HUGE cage. An adult iguana will need a cage at least 5Tx5wX3D, that is the miniumum size.. They need humidity as well. Some iguanas do NOT tolerate alot of holding "bonding" time.
I would suggest either a bearded dragon or leopard gecko if you want one that you can hold alot.

Honestly, i have an iguana, ive had it for 13 years (i duno if thats a long time for iguanas?) but shes really borring. I take her outside and everything on a leash lol i know it sounds crazy but its true. The only thing she really loves is being held, so i guess if u just want one to hold it all the time thatd b fine, but theyre not like dogs, they dont do nething. They eat about once every 2 days and they need a varrying diet. My advice, dont get one, find a more interesting pet.

Iguanas and water dragons are expensive to provide for. Bearded dragons a little less. Leopard Geckos fairly inexpensive to keep. I'd recommend a visit to reptilerooms and read the forum section on care and feeding. Then decide what is best for you and research the expense of all equipment and caging, as well as live food for some species.

water dragons get around 2-3 ft, require tropical setup needs a big enough swimming area, eats a large variety of foods including rodents, insects, fish and some plant matter.

iguanas are similar but are larger 3-6 ft but only eats vegetable and fruits probraly not a good choice for a apartment.

An anole is very small and very quick may not want to get because they can escape if you do not pay attention to it while cage is open. not something u want to carry around, males are aggressive

so the best choice will be a water dragon

I woul get the iguana. The anole and water dragon are a little jumpy. The problem with the iguana is how big they get. M friend had on and it was 7ft.
