Yep. It makes me angry when people I know talk about it as if they deserve to not work and get paid for it. It is only supposed to be a support until you are back on your feet, not a way of life.

Some people actually need a little to get by. The people on welfare that anger me are the ones that buy 5 packs of smokes with a hundred dollar bill.

Welfare was designed to help people get through a rough patch in their life. Unfortunately is it taken for granted and now some people do take it as a right.
sometimes I think money shouldn't be given out so freely. Coupons and tokens would make people want to get off welfare.
I still feel we as a society should look after our disadvantaged.

If they actually NEED the help from welfare then I'm all for it. BUT, if it is being used so someone can just sit around on their butt all day and not HAVE to do anything, well that just pisses me off. I can't stand welfare trash.

did you ever think people use it because they need it, a friend of mine has 7 kids her husband decided he wants a younger women after 34 years SO she has all the kids and bills and he has a young chick, so her lousy 3 bucks an hour as a waitress does not support them and she can fight all day and night for child support some states do not press the issue, so she applies for welfare to feed her 7 kids...and yes she relies on it so they can eat. i think you are very presumptuous... not everyone enjoys losing their pride andhaving to ask for help somtimes it is well needed
and for the record you can not buy cash items such as cigs, beer, or cooked food with food stamps...and if you recieve a check its not going to be very much i assure you ihave worked at dhs a family of 7 gets 215 dollars a month here that does not even pay your rent

Collecting welfare is not as easy as it sounds. I think welfarians deserve to refer to it as "being paid" when they collect cheques.

People being on welfare doesn't bother me.
I'm much more bothered by my tax money going to fight a war we shouldn't be in.

they like the free lifestyple...get their cheque, buy food, get drunk or some use it just to get high. it is not right, and WE have to pay for it !!!
