...when people become very obnoxious and patronising while correcting you about something you've written here in Answers... only to skulk off quietly when they're proven wrong?

I freely admit that I will argue until I'm blue in the face if I feel I have a good point - but I can cheerfully admit I was wrong. Others just won't.
The other day someone called me a moron for capitalising the first letters of 'Thames Barrier'. I pointed out it was a noun and therefore the capital suage was correct. They sent me a really ride email and then slunk off with their tail between their legs. After deleting their nasty answer, of course. LOL!

Harry - Now, this may come as a surprise, my friend, but you aren't the centre of my world:. I'm speaking generally. Your answer to my last question was just one in a long line of laughable comments. This one wasn't simply inspired by you.
Plus, I'm not moaning, dear. Not at all. I am amused, and wondered if anyone else felt the same on the matter!

It is rather surprising since this is an open forum that is to promote interesting questions followed by interesting answers and not the Grammar Police.
Maybe those responders are the comic relief. I usually think they have an axe to grind and determine they must truly be nasty.

I'm the same will argue till the cows come home if i know i'm right but will back down if necessary but don't like to.I've spent my life being corrected by my elder sister and now i find myself doing it to others! ooops.
I corrected someone on here earlier no doubt they will give me a thumbs down or even report me for objectional speech,but i bet they'd be the 1st to do it to someone else!

I find it very amusing when people get on their soap box about something without getting their facts right first; and it's great to prove them wrong. When they become obnoxious and condescending, it is best to see the humour in it. Have a nice sleep! :o)

Typing is not my best asset.The checking of the speller is most of the time.And it's been sometime since my last English class.So I would be the last to qualify in being obnoxious.Stupid to do that anyway.

Yes! I had a girl yesterday block me because she didn't like what I said and others, then eventually deleted the whole question. Why ask or make a statement if you can't handle someone else's reply.:)

most definitely... just like an animal being scolded for doing something wrong, them know-it-alls just run away when they are scolded..guess they don't like it. They can dish it out but when it comes down to it, they can't take it when they are the ones being corrected.

I dunno about amusing, I think some just have to be obnoxious as its their nature and they're just unhappy people who want others to feel their negativity. There's one in every street, workplace etc and I dont know why they bother going on here just to correct people ot take the p..s.. bored wannabe's I guess?
