i have 768 of ram 2.93ghz cpu and a geforce card with 128mb on it will it run ok

Your RAM is pretty low for Vista . . . I started with 1 GB on my laptop and it worked acceptably . . . 2 GB seems to be the sweet spot. The graphics card should be OK, but I think 256 MB graphics is recommended. The processor seems OK but I don't know because mine is dual core 1.8 GHz. I think you should consider sticking with Windows XP or installing Ubuntu Linux instead of Vista. Those will definitely run OK on your computer. And if you have Windows XP you really won't be gaining anything by upgrading to Windows Vista. If you don't already have Windows XP, install Ubuntu Linux. Good luck!

Hey mate, with 768 ram i doubt if it will perform since vista consumes a lot of ram, i have 2 gb and out of that it uses 700 mb just to keep it running without any additional programs. what you can do is check the windows vista adviser on the following link which i think should be a bit helpful.

It'll run basic edition, but it may be slower with all the other editions.
