I dont know the title of the book or the author. the authors last name has end in an "E" but I'm not sure. The book was a mostly black paperback and when you open it up it doesnt have a chapter and immediatley has a boy at a party in a prep school talking about a townie, I do know the author is well known.

Could the book be white instead of black? Sounds like Catcher in the Rye to me. Pax - C

You have to take help from a good librarian, or, from a good book shop! When you see the book or hear the name of the book or the author, suddenly, you will recollect and recognise! And, for that you have to make a trip to a good library or book shop!

My crystal ball says that you need to read the book and remember what you read before asking questions about it.
