No, technique in theatre is how the actor brings the character to life. It has nothing to do with lighting, etc. Do you mean Technical Theatre?

Technique is studying different methods of acting such as those brought about by Stanislavsky, Sanford Meisner & Uta Hagen.

Technical Theatre is what happens backstage with the scenery, moving sets, props, curtains, lighting, etc.
