Why do so many people hate Yngwie Malmsteen?

I mean, he's a really good guitarist and deserves all the credit he gets but no more than a quarter of the flak he receives on a daily basis from jerks commenting videos of him playing on sites such as youtube.com. I just think it's kind of unfair for such a talented being such as Yngwie Malmsteen to get so much ****.

yes he his a good guitarist. bur remember most people commenting are probably into these no talent emo bands and wouldn't know a great guitarist if it smacked them in the head,,,,,,,,,,

He was walking towards me at the 2013 Dallas Guitar Show, and I was 4 ft away, waved and yelled "Hi Yngwie!" and the guy totally ignored me. He only plays the same arpeggiated, superfast, neoclassical guitar diahrrhea he's done for 30+ yrs and still wears the same crap from 1985. I just can't find a reason to dig him now. As far as great guitarists who are also really cool people, Eric Johnson is a far better musician, innovator, artist and such a genuinely nice guy that YingYang isn't good enough to even be in his presence.
YingYang is just a pompous, arrogant, soulless Swedish meatball.

Yes he is very good guitarist but live is where its at. He should get a singer he'll only appeal to guitar aficionados who know and appreciate pure guitar music not the main stream.

He's a great guitarist ON RECORD

He's rubbish live, in fact he is the only headline act I've been to see that I have walked out half way through and spent the rest of the concert in the bar.
