Firewire is no more than the type of connection used like a USB-1 or USB-2 Firewire is of that same type only has a faster transfer rate than USB.
Next as far as Harddrives are concerned, You didn't make the ttrue distinction between External or Internal.
Segate is one of several brands on the market that made ther mark in Internal Hard drives like are in most computers.
They make good products, If you are in the market for External, I suggest you look at one of these.
iOmega, Lacie, Maxtor, Mercury, all of these have excelent Hard Drives External, that are either USB, or Firewire and they for the most part is you plug them in and your off, they mount on your present computers desktop and you simply drag and drop, there are of course different features depending on what you want it for.

Firewire and eSATA are both connection interfaces. For external hard drives, eSATA is the fastest interface. BUT be sure your PC or motherboard has the eSATA slot at the back.

Hitachi HDD was used in the chart but a Seagate HDD would give similar performance.
