Uniform Resource Locator. where you locate a website or link thru the URL

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator.

This is an example of a url:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/URL
You can click that for more information.

They're used to identify different sites on the internet. (The thing you see on your address bar that always starts with http:// is a url)

They're used on myspace and xanga and sites like that too for identifying a picture, video or song to upload.

Here's an example of a picture url:
http://i0006.photobucket.com/albums/0006/pbhomepage/celebrities/1059267632_l.jpg
Right click and click properties to see the picture url.

Here's an example of a video url:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NINJQ5LRh-0
(to put vids on blogs, get the embed code)

Here's an example of a song url:
http://dl.mp3lizard.com/jayb/i%5Fwanna%5Fknow%5Fmp3
You probably need to put these on a player code. If they just ask for a song url these should be fine.

Hope I helped

Uniform Resource Locator ... that's the 'technical name' ... but what 'is it' ...
It's an 'address' that you put into your 'browser' to go to a certain website ... as in "www.yahoo.com" which takes you to the Yahoo 'home page' ... the next is Yahoo!Answers ... www.answers.yahoo.com ...

It's basically a technical word for a website.

It is the writing you see in the address bar at the top of the page, for example

http://www.yahoo.com
http://mail.yahoo.com
http://mx.yahoo.com
