Can I vote in the Democratic Presidential Primaries in 2008 if I am not 18? I don't think I can, but my friend told me she thought I could. I will be legally able to vote in the actual election in November 2008. She told me this qualifies me to vote in the primaries as well, even though I'd be under 18. It's in the state of Maryland, if that matters.

Double check with your local elections office, but I think that in Maryland you're allowed to vote in the primaries if you'll be 18 before the general election. This came up a couple years ago, when they pushed back the election date for Mayor of Baltimore and the general election ended up being over a year after the primaries.

No you can't vote in the Primary but to vote in the election you need to register soon:

To register, you must:

* Be a U.S. citizen;
* Be a Maryland resident;
* Be at least 18 years old by the next Election;
* Not be under guardianship for mental disability;
* Not have been convicted of buying or selling votes;
* Not have been convicted of a felony, or if you have, you have completed serving a court ordered sentence of imprisonment, including any term of parole or probation for the conviction.

* The court-imposed sentence includes probation, parole, community service, restitutions, and fines.

Also for the 2008 elections in your state this applies:
A voter registration application may be submitted to your local board of elections or the State Board of Elections at any time. However, an application must be postmarked by January 22, 2008, to vote in the Primary Election and October 14, 2008, to vote in the General Election. If you submit a voter registration application during the period that registration is closed, your application will be held at the local board of elections and processed when registration reopens. For the 2008 elections, registration will be closed from January 23, 2008, to February 25, 2008, and October 15, 2008, to November 17, 2008.
