Try a Dell Inspiron 530. Its not fancy but it has Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor, Windows Vista, 2GB, NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Integrated Graphics GPU.

Your budget is $900. I shall discuss later about pricing.

First, tell you about a good computer:--

1) It should be of a reputed brand (like Apple Macbook, IBM, Sony, HP, Dell etc.)
2) It must last long.
3) Good speed and upgraded / latest technology
4) Greater memory.
5) User friendly O/S

Now let's discuss about pricing. I can give you a link from where you can get your favourite Laptop just at $109!
How? Actually, these branded laptops are given free in collaboration with a global brand on purchase of their products. Just click on the link below and go to the Promotion tab in the opened page to find out more.

My suggestion is to have one built for you. If you buy from retail stores, 9Best buy, Circuit City, etc) you are buying all the programs in a bundle, some of which you will never use. I, myself have had 3 GAteways and never had any problems with them. Dell, HP, well Lets not go there. SOme programs wont work on them. I have yet to find a program that my Gateways do not accept. ANd they are more upgradable also. My sister had one built for waay under $900 with Cd writer, soundblaster system and much more. Good Luck

The Acer Series FH is an excellent PC at an affordable price. There customer support is not that great, but their PCs are so good, you will probably never need to call them. I have several installed where I work. Some have been in place for over two years. Never had a major problem. Just maintain good anti-virus and anti-spyware programs and you will be fine.

you better get hp that is the cheap and best. There is hcl which is the cheapest but it isn't really good.and there is lenovo which is so expensive .but you can always get an assembled computer which is a good choice .its cheaper too. and there is this 100$ laptop .but never buy a second hand computer it would be too slow .well according to me lenovo is the best and it even comes under your budjet.further ,if privacy is your issue then i suggest encryption softwares like folder lock and folder access.folder lock is expensive whereas folder access is just free.and u can get it from google or yahoo.

Check out http://www.zero3computers.com
They have computers from $399. You can add or take away parts to make it your own. They have many prebuilt to select from and beat most online gaming computer company's prices. I would definitely take a look at them.
