There is no one answer to your question. First, not all Muslims are Middle Easterners, and most certainly not ALL terrorists are Muslims. However, when you look at the list of terrorist acts going on around the world the vast MAJORITY of them are done by Muslim extremists.
In some cases, their children are taught that terrorism against infidels is OK...even heroic. In other cases, they are very simply mercenaries paid to carry out these acts...such as the mercenaries sent into Iraq by the Iranian government. And finally terrorism can be done by those wishing to gain control over others of the same religion, but not the same sect, i.e., Sunnis versus Shiites.

Are all Protestants members of the Ku Klux Klan? Were all Catholics members of the Irish Republican Army? Of course not! The terrorists are Salafist Jihadists. They don't practice any of the Five Pillars of Faith associated with Islam. They even accept a heresy called "Takfir" which says it's O.K. in waging Jihad for Muslim to kill Muslim. They kill innocents of all faiths. All of these actions are considered to be "Harram" (against the teachings of the Koran). These terrorists want to establish a Caliphate stretching from Spain to Indonesia and create Dar-Al-Islam (the world of Islam). They consider the current world to be the Jahili world, filled with corruption and deviance. This includes even those nations where Islam is the major religion.
Check with some of the larger book dealers and get a copy of a very small book (160 pages) entitled "Milestones". The author is Seyyid Qutb. It's now in English. It is to the Salafist Jihadists what "Mein Kampf" was to the Nazis.

No, not all Muslims are terrorists.
But it would be rather nice if the rest of the Muslim community in the UK would be more vocal in denouncing terrorism. When the Danish newspapers printed a few satirical cartoons about Islam, Muslims all over the world went beserk, marching through the streets, burning things, chanting and screaming.
Yet in the UK, after the London bombings and after a recent failed attack, where were all the peaceful Muslims? Not protesting, that's for sure!
Also, Islam does have the concept of 'Jihad' or holy war. No other religion has this.

No...
However to paraphrase the famous author, the late Oriana Felaci..
"It is very difficult for the American people to separate the radical Muslims from the Muslims who are peaceful and caring..."
Conversely...
"It is very difficult to separate the policies of the President of the United States from the people of the United States or members of America's Armed forces by people in the Middle East"
In the same way we group and polarize Muslims, many of those same Muslims in the Middle East will group and polarize the American people.
Not fair on either side.

No, and whoever said that "all terrorists are Muslims but not all Muslims are terrorists" is also so blatantly wrong it goes to show how uneducated some in our population are about the world outside of our borders.

No, in fact it seems to me that the terrorists are following some weird outdated tribal mentality and are not really Muslim at all, they just claim to be as a justification for violence.

No, not all Muslims are terrorists. In fact, terrorists kill, attack, mistreat or torture their own people too.
