telephone salesman: ask them to hold for a moment, set the phone down and walk away.
door to door: ask them if they've heard the word of the Lord, start preaching to them about the sins of demanding money for material possessions.
In a store: Just stand there with a blank expression and stare at them. But don't look them in the eye, stare only at an ear. That will really creep some people out!

open the door naked and tell him that if he wants to come in then he will have to take off his clothes too because this is a house of nudism.
no wait. that only freaks out the jehovah witnesses. most salesman like that.

salesman make money by talking to lots of people some buy some don't, so take up as much time as you can without buying and therefore he lost a few sales.

For solicitors at the door, I ask progressively bizarre questions, like how their product will help my sex life.
For telemarketers, when they ask for me, I say, "Yes, he's here. Hold on, I'll go get him." I then put the phone down and go back to what I was doing. The record thus far was someone holding one for nearly half an hour before hanging up.

I like the first answer. If it's a door to door try selling them something heh heh heh! If it's a phone salesman start whispering. tell them you have to be quiet because they are looking for you :D They ask who tell them those nice men in white coats. :D heh heh heh Get them really going they will think you lost it! I know it wll work I have tried it on my sister freaked her out! :D

Agree to buy everything they've got.Especially all the really expensive stuff.Take lots of time with them.Ask tons of questions. Have them fill out the order forms or contracts and them change your mind and cancel.

laugh hysterically at their product! and crack lots of jokes on them. i did that to some guy trying to sell a 1800.00 vaccum the funniest thing was we have wood and tile floors through out our whole house

If he is at your door, tell him to wait a minute while you go get your glasses, purse, some excuse, and then never return. If he is on phone, same idea, get them to hold on and never return.
