I do this everytime I go to the store. It take me twice as long and I still forget something, even though I am careful to check down each aisle.

I've done that, too. Most embarrassing. And I come home with things not on the list because we already had some.

My Grandma sometimes does this forgets her list so we end up shopping for more anyways
