Don't get me wrong.. I love A-Rod, Ichiro, Manny Ramierez, Jeter, Pudge etc.
But I also want to hear about players not mentioned everyday!
Who are some of your favorite players not really know around the league? It can be a rookie or someone just called up from the minors for the first time. Even people you feel don't get enough credit for what they do..

Travis Hafner of the Indians had the best OPS in the major leagues last year, yet I doubt many people know who he is. You don't hear all that much about Carl Crawford of the Devil Rays, or Mike Redmond of the Twins, who could be a starting catcher for a lot of other teams. As for retired players here are two trivia questions
1) Name the only pitcher, who is eligible for the Hall of Fame, who has at least 3000 strikeouts, who is not in the Hall of Fame?
2)Name the only pitcher, who is eligible for the Hall of Fame, who has at least 50 shutouts, who is not in the Hall of Fame?
The correct answer to both questions is...
Bert Blyleven who currently announces for the Minnesota Twins and has two years of BBWAA eligibility left. He should be elected to the Hall of Fame

Buddy is right on. These days, Placido Polanco is in his own class in this category.
Others include Paul Konerko, Matt Holliday, Orlando Cabrera, Mike Cuddyer, Travis Hafner, Aaron Rowand, and Placido's double-play buddy Carlos Guillen.

BAL - 2B - Brian Roberts
BOS - 3B - Mike Lowell (back east A-Rod and David Wright soak-up all the ink)
LAA - OF - Reggie Willits
LAA - RP - Scott Shields (middle inning reliever)
SEA - 3B - Adrian Beltre
TOR - OF - Alex Rios (in Toronto)
LAD - OF - Matt Kemp
STL - SS - David Eckstein
MIL - 3B - Ryan Braun (IF this guy is not well known, he will be soon,)
NYM - 2B - Reuben Gotay
SD - SP - Greg Maddux (He's well known of course, but doesn't get credit for helping the other pitchers on his team. He and Jake Peavy talk constantly. That's horrible news for my Dodgers.)
