First you need a toilet scrubber (see a pic in the link below). Use clorox to clean the toilet, I recommend you put the liquid in a spray bottle and spray the clorox in all the toilet area, leave it for 15min and then scrub it. I also, buy a big clorox pill that keeps the bathroom clean for 4 months. Even if the pill helps a lot, you should clean the toilet once a week, including the seats (you can use clorox wipes for that) and all areas inside and out. Remember, when cleaning a toilet it is important to eliminate bacterias and not just make it look clean, that's why I use clorox.

Clorox makes a toilet bowl cleaner. You squirt it around the inside brim of the toilet. Let it sit for five minutes, then use the Clorox wand with disposable cleaner heads to scrub the inside of the toilet. When you're done, flush the toilet, toss the scrubber head and use clorox disinfectant wipes to wipe the wand. Works for me.

1) Toilet Bowl Cleaner. I have this eucalyptus scented stuff from Ecover, which works really well and is safe for the enviroment--no inhaling of toxic fumes like other cleaners.
2). Scrubby Brush for Toilet Bowl and an old rag or two.
3). General cleanser for toilet seat (above AND below the rim). I also really like Ecover's lemon scented all purpose cleaner.
Flush toilet. Squeeze in bowl cleaner and use brush to scrub under rim. Use brush to clean rest of the inside of toilet bowl. Let the cleaning stuff "sit" in bowl for maybe 10 minutes. Use general cleaner and old rags to clean toilet seat. Flush toilet again.
Basically, just use your common sense. :)

toilet brush and water if you are just making a clean toilet spotless. Use a toilet bowl cleaner or bleach and a little kitchen cleanser for stains. If its very bad pour a cup or two of vinegar into the bowl and leave for as long as you can , overnight is good.
