Fight the terrorist there instead of here............that has got to be as selfish as the invasion themselves.
Its as if one had a beef with his neighbor down the street and both decided to duke it out in the neighbors house across the street.
It only goes to show how shallow some think and how much BS people believe without an ounce of common sense.
No wonder the world has lost respect for us, and no longer believes or trusts us.
Peace
Jim

You wont believe it.I'm from Australia and last night when I went to bed, I was thinking about the people in Iraq. I was wondering how many of them had clean running water, power for the lights and to cook whatever and I was hoping the answer would be yes they do.But still I worried just how many of them are receiving the essential things needed to try to have a decent life. I have my doubts whether enough is being done God I hope so. I am not racist about any one I wish the best to all.I understand that we are suppose to be helping the people but I also hear that most don't want our help. I wonder is this the real truth or not? I was watching an episode of JAG last night and that's what was being said, that its, all about protecting the country (all of us) from the dangers that are clearly a threat to all, that are different to them. I want a lot of repairs done for the people and them let them have it,to run, love and be proud of. I wish the death toll would stop rising but I guess it wont while the Iraq's keep trying to kill us and the normal citizens allow it as well.

The reasons for us being in Iraq have all all exhausted themsselves and proved for naught.
The only real reason we continue to occupy Iraq is to instil a U.S. friendly government. We entered Iraq with a goal to bring down the reign of Saddam Hussein(spelling) under the guise of a search for WMD's, Al Qaeda, and others. We where victorious in the first, failed in the second, and then quicky fell into a quagmire after that.
We as a country, and as fellow humans cannot with good concious leave Iraq unfinished. We have yet to instil a government that can defend itself against islamic extremists, civil war would erupt. The country is still divided severely and without american presence, groups will battle for control on Iraq, especially those that do not respect the current government due to their american influences.
Not only do strand the fledging government we have fought (and died) to establish, but we also send signals to AL terrorsts worldwide that the great U.S. has been defeated. This will embolden our enemies and we WILL see further terroristic attacks on Americans and their allies in the future. A victory fo these extremists will also prove to everyone that their tactics work, and a very small group of madmen can bring a SuperPower to its knees, simply by dragging out a conflict long enough for the disease of confusion and humanity divide the once united superpower into several groups of pro war, anti war, leftists, biggots, dems and repubs..........................................
It is as americans with merican values that we ave grown to become what we are today. A series of bad choices and mistakes have divided our country and weakened us in the proccess. A failure in Iraq now will forever change the course of the United States of America, we MUST stand steadfast together, even with our different views and beliefs, and FINISH what WE started. We owe it the innocent Iraqi civilians, and we owe it to ou soldiers who went to war for the right reasons, and died in the process. To back down before we are finished now means that all the lives we have lost (both sides of this conflict) all the money that we have spent, all the tears that have been shed, will have been for naught. Is it more important to hate the Bush administration and work to see its downfall then to give substance to our efforts and losses over the years.
The reasons for us going to Iraq may have sucked, and I completely agree with you, But the reasons for us to remain in Iraq should be clear.

Its very simple the pipeline laid by Haliburton ( see Vise President) when we took over Afganistan hasn't reached the sea yet. When it does and we can be assured we (or people who like us) can keep control of it we'll stop dying over there.
