Go to your local library and check the Krause catalog (737.4). If your library doesn't have a copy, ask the librarian. Australian large cents were made from 1911 until 1964. Most of them are worth less than a quarter. 1911-1915, 1918, 1925, 1930, 1931, 1933, 1946, 1959, and a few date varieties are worth more. The 1930 is worth $1000's of dollars.

You can not have any from before 1911 for they don't exist. Coinage of Australia started with the "Commonwealth " coins of 1911 before that they used English and what ever showed up. There are some scarce dates as well as the rare 1930 (M) Melbourne mint penny, which is worth about $4000. Most can be found for .25 or a little more in a coin dealers world coin box. The mint marks are usually below the bust. Without seeing them or having a list of dates and mint marks this is the best I can do.
