Why are there still a lot of children waiting to be adopted?

And why do some people disagree with gay couples adopting?

Please tell me how I am wrong. That was also part of the point of the question I asked.

I should let you all know that I know a gay man who found a baby in a trash can. He took this child home and was able to adopt it. So Jeremy, his heterosexual parents didn't abort him, but rather left him for dead. This homosexual gave this kid a loving home and he is healthy and just as important he's happy with a great sense of self worth.

There is a long waiting line for AMERICAN babies, because of all the red tape. A lot more children would be adopted in this country if they made it cost less money. We're talking an estimated 20-50 thousand for a prospective couple to make it through the process. Why do you think so many couples are adopting Korean and Chinese children?

The problem is the system, not the prospective parents.

Because the vast majority of folks looking to adopt want healthy babies, and the vast majority of kids who need parents have tons of special needs (either health or abuse-related) and are way too old to be considered babies.

As for why some folks try to keep gay couples from adopting, well, some people are silly.

There are plenty of people who want to adopt babies, and not enough babies (in the USA)--that is, babies whose mothers are willing to put them up for adoption. Sadly, there are plenty of babies which are aborted, or born and raised on welfare and/or neglect instead of being place for adoption.

Couples who wish to adopt wait years. Most of them want newborns and there just aren't enough newborns being put up for adoption. Most of the children up for adoption are older, and may have special needs. Loving families are needed for these kids too, and I don't think gay couples should be turned away. If they can provide a good home, they should be allowed to adopt...so I agree with you on that point.

Because of beuracracy. Friends of my sister had to pay over 100,000 dollars to adopt a child and jump through more hoops than a circus clown. It's absurb what some people have to go through to adopt a child. Not everyone is Angelina Jolie, I'm not knocking her cause she does very good things, but her status makes it easier for her to adopt. The average family have it 100x harder.

I think all of these people only want babies. I think if you want to have a child you should not care the age and accept all children who are in need of a home. I think it is rediculous that people even have a say about gay couples adopting. Gay couples have every right to.

Because many of the children waiting to be adopted are special needs kids. There isn't a waiting line signing up for a kid that needs a ton of medical care. Very few people would have insurance good enough to handle it. Then it comes down to a financial burden. I wouldn't mind of gay couples wanted to adopt. I know some nice gays.

So, You let one incident try to convince you of the inherent Evil of Sodomy, as an excuse to say the child will grow up a "happy" and productive citizen.

Don't get me wrong, yes, it's unfortunate that the child's parents done him/her this way, that is IF it's true.

Nevertheless, the long-term impact on this child mentally will be devastating.

Adoption is long and tedious process making many not resorting to it due to legal impediments. Gay couples are often frowned upon because the society has reluctance to even accept their status.

probably because it is so difficult. i know the only reason my parents dont want to adopt is because they search your house and my dad has a lot of guns (they are locked up and safe but they wouldnt like it)

i personally dont care if gay couple adopt at least the kids will have a home to go to and loving parents!!!
