I know this is not a question. This is a demand.
Why humans have literally destroyed planet earth!
Don't we just love the freedom to go where we want when we want? Don't animals love that? Doesn't every animal NEED that? Then why do we selfish bastards (humans) lock them up in cages, seperate them from their families, kill them for their fur? This is the 21st Century, we don't need fur! ---
This is more like a warning. If you have a bird, for example, in a cage, set if free now. God will take His revenge from you in the near future.
I went to a "farm" yesterday and then had 2 elephants. Both elephants were seperated by blocks and they both had little dirty water - and their space that they were living in, going to spend their lives in, probably die in - was about the size of my tiny bedroom and my living room.
I hope every zoo keeper, every person who ever killed an animal on purpose for selfish reasons, ever locked up an animal in a cage and purchased it - SUFFERS!

Some of you are misunderstanding me. I was not specifically talking about Chickens. Also, to the first comment - you can set your animal free b/c of the environment - WELL WHO PUT IT THERE?
I'm talking about Zoo's and animals who you claim you can't release b/c they've been put in the wrong environment!

I'm not talking about Cats and Dogs who need humans - domesticated.
I'm talking about Birds captured from the wild, elephants, big cats...??? Get my point now. They're not meant to be here in the city's and zoo's - so we can have all the fun taking pictures and what fun do they get in cages?

Wow.
Really now, do you realize what would happen if every single animal in the world were released? It would be chaos. Most animals kept as pets have been domesticated for generations, and there are many that wouldn't last long in the wild. A chihuahua would get eaten in no time at all. A bird who's wings have been clipped wouldn't have a very good time out there.
Look at the condition that the average stray dog roaming the streets is in. Scrawny, mangy, and dirty. They look unhappy. Then look at the average family pet. Healthy, happy, and well fed. They're used to having someone care for them, why would they want to live on their own? They'd just end up at their owner's door again begging to get in. Animals live much longer when they're not left outside on their own all the time.
Funny, last time I checked, the Bible says that God gave Adam dominion over the animals, and covered his nakedness with animal skins. You say God's going to get revenge on us for keeping an animal as a pet?
Of course there are some animals who are horribly cared for. It's awful and should be stopped. But you're going to judge everybody who has a pet by that? If you are, you need a serious reality check.
(EDIT)
If you didn't mean domesticated animals, you should have specified that before.
It's not uncommon for animals who live in zoos to have been rescued from idiots who captured them from the wild and abused/neglected them. It's not always possible to release them because if they've lived in captivity a long time, they've become dependent on humans and wouldn't survive very well back in the wild. The zoos just try to give them the best life possible.
As for the wild animals who are captured for the sole purpose of being put on display or skinned, I find that sickening. I agree that those people have problems and should be locked up themselves.

You seem confused. Are you aware that some zoos have helped animals from becoming extinct? Well, they have kept some animals and were able to get them to breed to increase the population. Without zoos some animals would go extinct. Also, if a person owns a bird in a cage and sets it free it will most likely die. Animals that are used to being taken care of will die out in the wild. You don't know what you're talking about. Just b/c some people mistreated a couple of elephants, everyone is the world will be punished for owning animals. God isn't going to punish us for owning animals. How the heck do you think Jesus got around, UGGH HELLO ANIMALS! They were put here for a reason.

ok ya, Im gonna release an african pygmy hedgehog loose in Ohio.. just so it can die as soon as cold weather hits!
Many tamed animals would not know how to survive in the wild.. Im sure my hedgehog has been captive bred for several generations now. Many caged pets are also not in the proper environment to just be released. You can actually cause havoc on the eco system by releasing a new specie to the territory.
edited to add:
ok most people do not have the resources to take their birds back to the place that specie of birds originated from.
Many caged pets and even zoo animals are captive bred now, very few are wild caught anymore.. they would have NO survival skills for the wild! Even some of the wild caught animals would not be able to be returned.. some animals have strong pack instincts, and when a pack member is removed, they often do not accept it back.
Some of the better zoos take care of the animals.. they are given cages that are designed to be more like a natural environment.. they are fed good quality diets. They are given mental stimulus to keep them busy. Some of the better zoos are also working hard to preserve some of our endangered species.

If you're talking about wild animals, then why was your question, "If you have an animal in a cage, SET IT FREE NOW!?"
I doubt any of us own an elephant or tiger.
And besides, just setting a zoo animal free willy-nilly would not be good. Lions would be rampaging through cities and eating children in 2 seconds flat.
If you're talking about releasing them back into their natural habitats, that is not good either. Many animals in zoos are registered on the "Endangered Species" list. If we set these animals free and they died off living on their own, it's bye-bye to that species forever. There's no bringing them back.
This is why zoos have captive breeding programs. They are trying to keep rare species alive. Admittedly, yes, a cage may not be a good place for a wild animal, but if it keeps that animal's species going, what else is there to do? You tell me.

If you see an anmial that is abused or neglected like that then you should report it !! Not all animals in cages are treated like that !! Some are rescued or could be killed if not caged up and took care of !! Sometimes there is a good reason, they would get killed in the wild or shot !! If its for their own good and they are treated correctly then it is different !! alot of animals have no place to live because of humans taking their land , so the humans that do that to them should be the ones to make sure the animals are taken care of!!!!

My dogs are usually out during the day and they sleep in cages at night. I agree with not keeping large animals in cages such as elephants especially if they have dirty water. But I see the other side of the story where People put them in cages because of pochers. Your right we don't need to skin them for fur but some animals do need to be in cages as to not harm the public.

many zoos (not all - i will admit that there are some bad eggs among the bunch) are not in business strictly for entertainment (it's the people visiting them that pays for them to help animals the most). do you know how many animals would be extinct right now if zoos were not involved to help with animal conservation? my cousin is a vet in a zoo, working primarily with breeding programs of endangered species. yes, it is mostly due to us humans they are endangered to begin with, because we as a species kind of suck. but people like her are doing what they can to halt & reverse that, all thru the work of places like zoos. what other institution could afford such an expensive endeavor? not many.
it is wonderful that you are so passionate about animal welfare & doing what you can to get the word out, but your enthusiasm could be better served if...1-- you were better informed about what works are being done by whom to help animals in need...and 2--you worked with others like an animal shelter or organization to change laws & regulations so people can't keep harming animals like the poor elephants you saw. your intensity could really bring you far in the world of animals - just go find the outlet thru which you could do the most good and see what changes one person can bring about!

You should have been more descriptive in your initial statement and not ranted on like you did. But, you are not speaking for God when you ask for suffering for other people for ANY reason. God did give us dominion over the fish of the sea, foul of the air and beasts of the land, and the free will to do with it as some, not all, feel should be done.

i can prove you wrong with one animal .... chickens. they have to be kept in a cage because they are legally the dumbest bird known to man they will leterally wander off from an area looking for the best grass that they like to eat and not be able to find their way back and spen the rest of their life before they are starved or eaten looking for their home again and they dont even know what food is good for them alot of animals have a little bit of sense of i cant eat that because it equals death to me but chickens dont they will eat anything and then die because they ate something poisonous and they have som many natural predators that if anybody did set them free because they were hippies like what you seem to be they would almost all be killed in the first 24 hours and you would make alot of wolves cougars raccoons possums skunks coyotes foxes and everything else that eats them very happy and if they werent eaten on the first day they would surley die on the second so that is bad to let them go they need to be in a cage so they can be protected......HA!
EDIT: also i live near lake ontario and i have salt water fish so what do you expect me to do let my clown fish and my damsels and my snail and my featherduster go in the lake that would kill them faster than a life in the cage and what am i supposed to do with my oscars that water would kill them its so cold and my rabbits dont know how to survive they would be eaten by something and my goose is white thats like a target color so she would be dead in a heartbeat in the summer you seem to be more cruel than the people you say are being cruel to animals and also my parakeet would sureley die i have had one fly away once in the winter because an idiot left the door open and we found her not 20 yards from the house and she wasnt alive and i loved that bird and by the way you cant demand anything you have no power or athourity over anybody and with an attitude like that you wont ever have power over anybody because this is america and we pick our leaders so forget you.
