ESPN is very biased towards the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees for baseball. I am a Baltimore Orioles fan yeah I know they arent the greatest but I want to see their highlights sometimes. Last time they played Baltimore, all they talked about was Roger Clemens saying he had control over the Orioles but he didnt strike out one person and gave up like 6 runs while Erik Bedard struck out like 12 guys. The Orioles won but the game was about Roger Clemens sucking but in the eyes of ESPN it was the greatest pitching performance not how the Orioles won. I just seen a highlight on their game tonight and it was A-rod striking out 3 times not how the Orioles scored 7 runs. Then their crew can talk about the Red Sox for hours, yeah I know they are a really good team and if I was betting on who would win the World Series, it would be Boston. There are other teams and I believe ESPN selects a few teams and athletes and only talks about them. I was wondering what you guys thought about that

ESPN will talk about the Yankees and Red Sox a lot as long as they equal big time ratings. Same with the Mets. It's been like this for years and it won't change anytime soon.

New England is a huge market (like NY) rest assured ESPN isn't dissapointed about the huge success that the Patriots have had since 01.

Think about this too, ESPN will get the Ravens plenty of prime time too on Sunday nights and Monday nights because they feild a team that brings in ratings. ESPN is a business, that's how it will operate, to get the most viewers, and as well the most consistant viewers.

However I do believe it was Karl Ravage on baseball tonight after showing highlights of the Orioles D-Rays game who said something along the lines of "That completes the sweep of the D-Rays, and folks if you are looking at your team's schedule and it says Orioles, don't go thinking it's an easy series just because it's Baltimore. The Orioles are 9-3 since the all-star break"

So far the Orioles have proved him right since they are now 11-3 since the all-star break taking two so far from the Yankees.

Anyway, the way I look at it, on baseball tonight they do talk about other teams, if I want to find coverage on the team I care most about, I just stick to the MASN post game show.

I know what to expect from ESPN, and while I do appreciate baseball tonight sometimes, as well as NFL live, I'll watch MASN pre-game or post game or I'll divert my attention elsewhere, I'm not into racing, I'm not much on watching golf, as well as some of the other things they show, I get bored of Barry Bonds fairly quickly, etc.

As for the Orioles having no talent... I suppouse Erik Bedard has been a big waist since he only leads the majors in strike-outs (btw, one of his wins did come opposing Clemens). Brian Roberts isn't a very good second basemen, and Miguel Tejada, what a bum move for the Orioles getting him in free agency.

The Ravens also only have Jonathan Ogden, Ray Lewis, Todd Heap, Matt Stover, Steve McNair, Ed Reed, Chris McCallister..nope..not a lot of star talent of the football side either.

It's about ratings. Always has been. When you're showing baseball on a cable station, you've got to appeal to the big markets most of the time to get them. Or teams like the Cardinals with broad regional appeal and a recent title. You can bet that this week, it'll be all Bonds and the Giants, again for the ratings.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that they're obsessed with the Yankees and Red Sox. A-Rod leads every edition with his pursuit of 500 or how far they're behind Boston.

But i've gotten used to it. I'm a fan of the Ranger and the Astros so I don't expect them to get as much air time as other teams.

Roger had 6ks what are you talking about did you watch the game.By the way u guys r lucky abreu was up and not A-Rod he has the best 9th innings this year. And maybe if one of your players were the youngest to 500 HRs they will get talked about too.Everyone wants to know whats going on with boston on the feild and the yankees on and off.Just like they do with the lakers,Heat,colts,patriots,TO,Kobe,D-Wade Jeter,P.Manning,Tom Brady,Lebron and A-Rod.Baltimore doesn't have any players like that or any talented players at alltheir like the the sixers beating a nice team no one cares.SORRY!but thats the truth.

espn gets big bucks from contacts/corporations/cities and huge viewer ratings from new york or boston or some north east city...so its only natural that all they talk about is them!!!

i understand you tho man...the angels are one of the top 3 teams in the mlb but they don't even get close to the recognition the pathetic yankees get

ESPN does televise too many Yankees games. They need to do NL games.
