The majority of crimes that are committed are committed by poor people. It should not be a surprise to anyone that it is class rather than race that is the determine factor . And, it should not surprise anyone that most minorities happen to fall in the lower class rung of the ladder. The majorities rule, and part of that rule is to take care of the majority. Better schools, better jobs , better educations all equal much better opportunities for the ruling , majority classes. Then whatever is left can be doled out to the remaining step down classes, until you be gen to run out of resources and not by accident here is where you run into the poor. White , Black , Latino, Asian it doesn't matter if they are poor people then there will be crime. It's one of the corner stones of capitalism. It's what makes this country......capitalistic. You can not have an abundantly happy , healthy, well fed and well dressed educated wealthy and middle classes without an depressingly angry, unhealthy , uneducated underfed , poorly dressed class of poor.people.

Minorities get convicted and jailed at a higher rate than whites. Especially with certain types of crime. I've known lots of whites who have been stopped with drugs and either not arrested or had charges dropped in exchange for community service or something like that. I don't know if minorities get the same favors.
Also, there is a lot of white collar crime committed by white faced criminals that is way under investigated compared to other kinds of crime. Insider trading, tax fraud, other kinds of illegal transactions - mostly committed by whites and hardly ever prosecuted.
Rob a bank with a gun and you're likely to get caught and imprisoned. Rob a bank's customers by skimming points off a loan and mis-informing your client and you'll get a bonus. There's lots more to be made with the latter activity, too.

Honestly.. are you serious? I live in Texas, I work, I go to school full time, I'm a perfect citizen. I get followed by the police at least 2x a day. I cant even rake my lawn (I live on a 99% white block) w/o the police being called because passerbys say I am bothering them. I do get alot of frivelous tickets. I do understand why though, 1 I live in Texas--thats a no brainer, for all you people who think racism is dead--live my life. 2 it is easier for a cop to racially profile to get citations by stopping the people that would most give them the citation they need for their quota. Example, A car with bug shiny rims and tinted windows who do you think drives that? Wouldn't the odds of getting a citation be more likely if you stopped a chevy caprice with rims than a 2006 lincoln continental? Its about money as everything in life. The cops pull over the cars they feel will make them meet their quota. Just think about it.. If you were a cop would you waste your time pulling over cars that didn't produce tickets?

Generally speaking, people living in poorer conditions have higher crime rates. The main reason for this is education. Without higher education/job skills, people cannot raise above their culture created stress. Ambition and seeing the vision are required to accomplish more then just existing. They get caught up in the trap of everyday life. There is a higher rate of drop outs.
There is prejudice, but I know of too many people who have successful lives. People of different race, color, or religion. And, I know lots of white people who have the same problem.
The truth of crime is that almost all crimes are drug/alcohol related. For some reason, poorer people get involve with these problems and can't/won't get out. Maybe the richer people have better treatment opportunities. My brother is in jail again for the forth, or is it the fifth time. Alcohol abuse.

Crime is generally associated with socio-economic class. Poor white people in bad areas commit just as much crime. However, there is a large portion of the black community living in poor housing conditions and with incomes under the poverty line.
Not all this can be blamed on poverty of course; there are plenty of poor honest people and there are also plenty of dishonest middle-class people. However, the level of income and education play a significant part in both who commits crime, and what type of crime (white collar, blue collar) they commit.

Minorities are convicted of more crimes, while actually whites commit more crimes but can afford much better attorneys' that are not being paid by the same county that's convicting the alleged criminal. Also many white collar crimes go unreported as it were.

no, the difference is whites get away with it more. How can 10% of the population account for 70-80% of the criminals in jail. Not to mention the number of minorities on death row. Welcome to a racist society where minorities are always guilty, even if they aer innocent.

Most minorities live in poorer conditions etc than their white counterparts. In numerous countries, governments do not take care of them and instead leave them in poverty etc. Such conditions generally breed crime more than affluent areas.
Also prejudice in the legal system is still prevalent. You will probably find that minorities are more likely to be imprisoned than a white person.

They absolutely do. A black male is also many times more likely to commit adultery than a white male, too. It's the culture in which they are raised, nothing more.

Partially. I believe public defenders who represent many of these minorities aren't given a fair chance.
