I suggest you download Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D (they’re free), install them, update them and run them. If they don't seem to be able to get rid of everything they report finding, try running them again, this time in Safe Mode. Safe Mode prevents many instances of malware from loading and protecting itself against deletion of its files.
Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.
To get into Safe Mode:
1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key
3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. You may have to log in as Administrator to delete the bad files.
5. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.
Update and run both regularly, along with a good anti-virus package.
Good luck.

It doesn't sound like a virus to me, It sounds like a browser hijacker. Sounds like you also have ad-ware and probably spy-ware. You can reset your homepage by doing the following: Go to your Control Panel and click on Internet Options. On the General Tab, you will see what your homepage is set to. Simply change it back to whatever you want it to be and then click Apply. Now, while that will work for the moment, you may have one of the hijackers that will just resetting your homepage every time you open a new window. If that's the case, then I highly recommend getting a removal tool such as Spy Hunter. It does well at finding those annoying little bugs, even into the registry keys. To check for a virus, you have to scan your PC using your anti-virus software. I use Symantec, so I'm not familiar with McAfee, but they probably work about the same. Don't to a partial sweep. Do a full computer scan. It will take a while, but you want to make sure you check every file, folder, etc. Just a little FYI, most people manage to get the browser hijackers by downloading something from on line, like maybe a free tool bar, or some other type of free software. Occasionally its bundled into something you may have even purchased. Hope this helps! Good luck!

To check for viruses, I would suggest you go into Safe Mode and run your antivirus program there. This way you will (hopefully) catch any self-executable viruses.
Also, on the Yahoo toolbar, there is a pop-up blocker.
To reset your home page, open the page you want, then click Tools, Internet Options, and - assuming you are on the page you want for home, click "use current."

Udate your antivirus and scan your coputer in safe mode. After you remove virus, I recommend you use firefox browser. It is safer than IE. It can prevent viruses such as worm, trojan and etc. The newest official edition of firefox can be downloaded from http://www.mollzia.com
