Harvard, Princeton, and Yale are always battling for the top 3 as expected. Stanford, MIT, and Cal tech up there as well. Cal tech was #1 a few years back. I believe Stanford was as well. It really depends what you plan on studying to judge what the best college in the US is. If you're planning on doing anything art, then Julliard would be the best...not Princeton or Yale

This year U.S. News ranked Princeton as #1, Harvard #2, Yale #3, and had a tie at #4 between Cal Tech, Stanford, and MIT, but from year to year, those universities seem to switch positions. What is really more important is which is best in the subject matter you are studying.

Forget Harvard. The best school is my school - MIT.

Actually, it depends on what you're interested in. You can check out some guides like US News but sometimes they're unreliable.

MIT is great if you're into science and engineering. CalTech is also great. :)
