I breastfed my kids until they were 30 months old. Since they were only 18 months apart, there was a few months where I had to eat like crazy just to keep up.

I had twins and breastfed my youngest till he was 11 months old. At that time he got sick and wouldnt eat and I started to dry up a bit. he is 16 almost 17 months old now and started drinking from a sippy cup. I miss it and the closeness and wish I had nursed my frst child as well but I cant go back 13 yrs. I hope to have another baby someday and will with out a doubt breastfeed if at all possible

I breastfed my oldest until he was 10 months (I was planning on going 12 months). At that point he started refusing to nurse and eventually weaned himself. (He also started walking around the same time so I am sure that was a contributing factor) He had his first teeth come in at 3 1/2 months...so I dealt with a few bites lol, but we worked passed it :)

I plan on breastfeeding my second son for 12 months, we'll see how it goes :)

My first for 2.5 years. Currently nursing my 4 month old and plan on going the same length of time. Most of the world nurses that long.
Nursing past 12 months still provides immunities for your baby, nutrition, and brain building proteins. YOUR risk of breast and ovarian cancers decrease the longer you nurse.

Did you know Michael Jordan the basketball player nursed till he was 3?

2 years, for my first. I intended to wean him after a year, but he fell and cracked his teeth and would not eat solid foods due to pain. We had no dental coverage and not enough money, so I breastfed him until we could get the teeth pulled, and then slowly weaned.

So far, with my second, he is 13 months and nearly self-weaned, only bf'ing at naptime and bedtime.

Kids vary. Weaning varies. It's all a process. :)

I breastfed my 3rd for about 8 months, when I had to supplement, she weaned herself.

I'm still breastfeeding my 14 month old even though I had plans of quitting around 12 months.

with my first son i went up to 4 months ( he got teeth early and bit me to the point of blood being drawn out) and with my 2nd son I never fully came in with the milk so I did it for about 5 months. But I would say a women should do it until she feels its right to stop or when her child no longer wants to lay and feed

I breastfed my little boy until he was 16 months old. I only stopped because I was having surgery and I wouldn't be able to hold him for a while. I loved every minute of it.

My son is still breastfeeding and he'll be 11 months old on 8/3. We planned on doing it for only 12 months, but he hasn't even begun weening.
