As one as suggested the link to the 2001 where the falcons traded away the pick for future Hall of Famer & class act LT.

Big Knick good answer - I agree with the knock about not getting to the Super Bowl - no totally his fault.
But in no way has he been a good role model - Check out Warrick Dunn if you need a good example. Vick makes TERRIBLE decision.
Even if he isn't convicted it happened on his property.

Yes Papa, he has been the Ultimate Disappointment for Falcons Fans.

I live in Atlanta and have been a Falcon fan for 20 years and Vick fan for 6. I forgave him for the bad play, the losses, the finger, the water bottle, the herpes, and the fumbles. I continued to defend him, but no more.

He filled the seats at the stadium because he was exciting to watch, and we all had hope that he could capture a Super Bowl win for our beleaguered team. But look at the last 2 years, he was a disappointment even before the dog fiasco.

I don't think the Falcons or the NFL has lost a great QB, I simply think the timing for the Falcons really puts us in a bind. I hope the fans here get behind the Falcons now, and Joey Harrington or whoever is at the helm. We need to show our team support, they have suffered far too much due to the ignorant, egotistical, sadistic behaviour of ONE player who grabbed the biggest piece of the pie, was nothing but a ball hog, and who couldn't pass for *****. Michael has many things to be ashamed of, but what he has done to this team ranks pretty high, with only the treatment and abuse of the dogs he owned a notch higher.

Vick was never supposed to erase the stereotype of a Black QB (speed, throw power, less accuracy and awareness) he was brought into the league to be able to run when under pressure and be mobile some people thought the falcons would incorporate option like the Cowboys did with Quincy Carter a few years earlier. So it cant be that.

Since Vick was drafted in 2001 only 4 different QBs have won the Superbowl. Tom Brady 3 times, Brad Johnson, Ben Roethlistberger, and Peyton Manning. So have all other quarterbacks drafted from 2000-2006 been dissapointments? No winning a superbowl takes a whole team and its not fair to put all the weight on Vick's shoulders.

Although Vick doesnt carry himself like Manning or Brady he hasnt been a nuisance until the charges of dog fighting. He was innocent in the "water bottle scandal" If he is not convicted of the crime of dog fighting then I think the world owes him a huge apology. It seems that almost everyone in america has forgotten that a person is innocent until proven guilty.

If he isnt proven guilty then I think that he is a role model for coming into the league and from day one being the leader of his team. Lets not jump to conclusions at least wait until he is proven guilty to call him the "Ultimate Dissappointment".

Personally I think everything about Michael Vick has been disappointing any way you look at it. The year he led the Falcons to capturing the first victory over the Packers in Green Bay in the playoffs I was so excited because Vick was just so awesome to watch play. He still is in a few ways but not so much anymore being that his running has just gotten old and back then he actually used to pass every now and again. Especially now with his off the field issues finally getting him into trouble, he was just a complete waste. Had some good years... but eventually turned out to be the disappointment that everyone said he would be.

Yes that was a dissapointment, but how did he even get voted to the Pro-Bowl? Seriously, if the Falcons wanted a RB who couldn't rush for a 1000 yd's till his 6th season then why didn't they pick up some 2nd day RB ( I'm not going to say L.T., Anthony Thomas, or Deuce, because they've all hit the 1000 mark a few times), then he can't even throw ( L.T. has better passing stats than he does), so yea he was a big dissapointment but hopefully either Joey can prove himself and the Falcons that he is their future ( I'm not a fan, but I feel for the organization), or Booby Petrino is reunited with the QB he mentored in colledge Brian Brohm, so they win one way or another, as long as Vick isn't there)

Personally I would say yes, he is an embaressment to everything, and everyone would is intelligent enough to understand what is going on. At best Vick was an average QB!

As for the guy that pointed out Couch and Leaf.
couch gets a pass playing for an expansion team with no talent! Leaf just crumbled under the pressure of being in the spot light in SD? What would've happend had he gone to NY with a real media spot light?

I'd rather have my team associated with Leaf than Vick. I'd rather be known for drafting a kid would couldn't handle pressure than Ron Mexico with a "water bottle" and his alledged dog fights!

As a rabid fan of the San Diego Super Chargers, I am so very glad that the front office chose to skip Tricky Vick and pick up LT!
I like that pickup more than the potential fiasco caused by another classless act, Eli Manning. Course, I love that we ended up with Rivers, Merriman & Kaeding for the price of trading his mediocre carcass to the Giants!

And the fact that's hes a mediocre QB. It's all the more worse considering that traded up from number 5 that year. Go look who went from that spot in the 2001 draft.

A close second is Arnold Swartzenaegger current CA Governor and collector of the most special interest group money, (I'm sure I hammered his name).

But given the gifts, (the power and fame and money) Is that the best you can do?

and I agree with "allergic to eggs above", Oprah did good. (GREAT)

He has done nothing but make poor choices whether he is convicted or not. I wouldn't want my kids to idolize him. He doesnt run his mouth but his actions speak infinitely louder. As far as erasing stereotypes, he is succeeding. He created his own stereotype, ruthless dog-killer.

Another superb athlete who can't use his gifts because he's too stupid to recognize that fame has a price.

You can't live above the law if you're in the public eye. Makes no difference what color you are. All colors go to jail.
