I have never taken an illegal drug. Not even pot. I do take prescription meds, though.

I was addicted to cocaine. I was a "functional addict," thinking that it was fine that I liked to get high as long as I was still able to maintain my "normal" life of getting up, going to work, paying my bills, taking care of business, but it wasn't. I was really just going through the motions. I would stay up all night getting high, snorting that **** until my nose would hurt or start to bleed, take a quick shower or nap then go to work. I would have to sneak into the bathroom every now and then and take a "bump" just to stay awake. Nothing or no one could keep me from getting high. I had my "sober friends," the ones I would hang with when I wasn't getting high (which wasn't very often), and I had my "party acquaintances," the ones who would get high with me all night and slink out at 6 am before I went to work. I worked 6 and sometimes 7 days a week just to make sure I had enough money to pay my bills and have some left over to "pool" with my buddies for some blow.
All that madness came to an end when one night, I was going to meet with my dealer to cop some (I had just run out), and it turned out the area I was in was swarming with vice/undercover cops who just so happened to be out watching HER. I, of course, was at the wrong place at the wrong time, got pulled over, and they found the baggie in my purse. It was only half a gram, but any amount of cocaine carries a felony charge of drug possession. I was taken to jail, bonded out the next night, and when I went to court I was charged with Felony possession of a controlled substance and sentenced to two years of Deferred Adjudication (probation). Deferred Adjudication basically means that I have not been convicted of the crime, but the arrest/charge and the fact that I pled guilty to the crime does show on my record. Therefore, I have a hard time finding work, and cannot even move out of the apartment where I am now because no one wants to rent to a felon. I am blessed in the fact that I have found a job where they don't care about my background, but I am pretty much "stuck" here until my probation is terminated in January 2008 and my record is sealed.
The cocaine use has affected me in other ways: I am always irritable, short-tempered, and I often have sinus infections and/or headaches.
I did not say all of this to preach, but I hope that someone will read this and figure out that this is not the way to go. It seems like fun, but the consequences and risks are way too high.

Alcohol, weed, dxm.
It didn't have a negative impact. I am glad I did it. I discovered that I don't really like alcohol or weed, and I will never do them again, except that very rare occasion at a party. Dxm was fun but I don't want to go too far and get brain damage or some sh*t.. Never again with that stuff.

Yes and many to and yes it did screw up my life "alot of bad choices" no I'm not glad I tried them. I would not recommend trying drugs. If I could I'd go back and make smarter choices. It's nothing to brag about.

started smoking when I was 11, started smoking weed when I was 12, smoked heroin when I was 14.
I don't do heroin anymore, thankfully I was never addicted. I still smoke cigarettes smoke a bit of marijuana occasionaly.
My advice is that everyone should try drugs, but they need to learn how to handle them
