According to the article I've linked below, "the wombat has a small, vestigial tail which is almost entirely concealed by its fur. Variations in size and color depend largely on where the wombats live."

So the answer is that wombats DO have tails, but they're really, really tiny and useless - much like our own tail bones. :^)

Wombats have tail but just very short being only a couple of centimetres long.

Yes. ...It's just really little.
And you can knock on their rumps and it makes a "thock"-ing sound!
