The Great Lakes are collectively the largest accumulation of fresh water in North America. Superior is the single largest fresh water body on the continent. But it's not "in the U.S." Superior, Huron, Erie, and Ontario each straddle the Canadian border.

The largest body of fresh water in the U.S. is Lake Michigan.
