"Best place" would depend on what you consider the best.

Mars has great rock climbing, lots of minerals to examine, cliffs, mountains, extinct volcanoes - a lot of outdoor roughing-it things to do.
Venus - no way, too hot.
Jupiter or the other gas giants - no again, no solid surface, too much pressure.
But I think the best place would be Iapetus, the 3rd largest moon of Saturn.
It has no atmosphere, so we'd need domes. But the sky would be amazing, especially on the Saturn-side of the moon. Those rings and the bands on Saturn hanging in the sky would be truly gorgeous - at Iapetus's distance Saturn would take up probably half the sky.

Ehhhh, theres not that many good places in our solar system to colonize but if I had to pick one it would be probably Europa aka
one of Jupiter's moons. Mars is overrated and overall advantages from its geography will be quite dull. Of course I'd say the construction of oxygen domes are required, or planting trees around the planet will also be a good option. But just think of such a painstaking task. And what about water? Source of all life form? Are we going to fill Mars with Earth's water and make artificial oceans? No. Europa my friend. Humans are highly capable of creating some civilization outside our planet in the nearby future (that is if the human race is yet not extinct to fulfill such dream) there just might not be any reason in doing so. Unless we've depleted our ozone layer and are forced to use some kinda armor that'll protect us from being burned out in the sun. Martians suck. Earthlings rule!!! May our race spread throughout the galaxy and beyond thy reaches of the universe. Oh hold on, I ujust remembered human beings came form space, specifically alpha centauri except for chinese they come from procion and black ppl come ffrom orion.

After setting up a moon, we should then move onto Mars and colonise it. Later it could be terraformed (that mans altering it to make it like Earth)- which may well be possible). Perhopas we could also terraform Venus. Mars woudl be easier.

After that, I would then move out to the asteroid belt as it is excpetionally resource rich. The minerals in one reasonably sized asteroid are worth trillions of dollars.

Colonies could then be set up on the moons of the gas giants.

Remember that as the sun slowly heats up as fusion processes continue, Earth will one day become too hot to live on. Mars woudl be our next stopping point. Eventually the only safe places would be way out around Saturn and gas giants beyond that. Our last safe place would be the Kuiper belt.

Venus just because everyone thinks it is the worst place to try to colonize when it is the best. If you can just shade it down a bit it will become a second earth all by itself. All the ingredients are there. And if you build your sunblocker, just partly, out of solarpanels you would have such an excess of energy you could use it to run a nuclear accelerator to manufacture anti hydrogen and export that energy to the rest of the solarsystem.

I would like to live on the moon of course because it's closest to Earth and it's got little Gravity. Plus I think it's gonna be the first choice for an extraterrestrial colony.

BTW, Aaaack! Your picture would scare the skin off me before I got over my fear of Brak, thanks to you.
That's pretty neat actually. Try scaring kids with that face lol.

In order of settlement

The Moon, Mars, Mining colonies throughout the asteriod belt.
Titan, Europa.

You gotta have a tourist colony on IO as well just to see the crazy Volcanism.

Brak......hmmmmm

Brak sounds just like flatulence.

Say it with gusto! BRAAAAAAAAK!!

Yeppers, sounds like foul air to me.

BTW, I don't do foolish opinion poll stuff. Waste of time, donchaknow. And, particularly, this question has been asked so many times by so many juvenile minds that I just quit answering the stupid things.

Man will never colonize another planet. Anyone who thinks that is dreaming.
