Tell your coach you're feeling under-appreciated. I wouldn't go searching for an MVP award (because you'd definitely not get it that way), but you deserve to feel like a valued member of the team. Talk to your coach.

Yuk.

My daughter was catcher one season. Next season, at a different league, they asked her what she played before and she mentioned catcher (along with all the other positions she played). The coach put her at catcher on the first game. It was also >90 degrees. She told me she wanted to quit. I told her to tell Coach that although she was a catcher, she hated it. He changed her to third base (her strongest position).

Take some Tylenol and get some sleep. If you still hate it that much at the next practice, tell Coach you don't think it is worth it....maybe someone else should take on catching duties for a while. Then he/she will give you the ultimatum, one way or another.

Good Luck!

well, I know how you feel playing sports when it is 90 degrees out but I think everyone is just as hot as the catcher.. yes, you are wearing alot more equipment but we are all out in the hot fields dieing from the heat.. Sometimes when they hand over the mvp ribbons I know it doesn't seem fair but life isn't always fair.. be happy you are on a traveling team and hopefully the season will almost be over!!try to smile and drink alot of water while you are playing!! next year maybe see if you can play a different position!

Catching for 4 games is a lot, especially in 90 degree weather. You could have heat stroke that way. Have a chat with the coach.

Good luck!

Everyone hates to feel underappreciated. Looks like this time you're going to have to pat yourself on the back. It's enough for you to know that they would have lost without you. Besides, can you change anything that happened? No. Can you change their attitudes? No. So stop stewing over it--it's not do you or anybody else any good.
