i am very interested in taking a route 66 road trip and dont want to miss any part of the old highway. i want to no every section that is still drivable and need extremely detailed directions.i would also like to know the names of old route 66 motels(not brand name motels of today)and the name of the town they are in so that i can stay at them.I would like to know every little interesting stop along the way and their location. I am very interested in old buildings so if you no any neat old buildings or ghost towns i would love to know, So basically i want to know every single detail about route 66 to make my road trip more enjoyable.

I googled it before, but you don't get much info on it. I suggest going to a book store and buying a book on it. Make sure it has maps and also tells about the local businesses. Have fun!

there is a route 66 museum in Barstow, California. Was interesting and free. It is a little side room at the old railroad terminal. You will enjoy this part of the trip.

I'm familiar with lots of the old 66, might want to warn you it's more romance from the song (and old tv show) than reality. It's really not as interesting as you think. Sorry.
