Okay details.......today we had a lot of heavy rain........during which that time our water from every faucet and toilet is now gray............it hasn't rained in hours now and its still gray. I let it run for quite a while and still gray. I have never had a well before, we moved into this house in May. I am unsure of what is going on. Any suggestions??

Better get the well man on the phone and ask him. Might be a local problem, might just be your well. Might be surface water going into it--might be pollution migrating in from some place else. Well drillers and well repair men have ways of finding the sources of trouble!

Wells are generally too deep to be affected by ground water. Of course, one seldom really knows what factors may lie "upstream" of you. I grew up with wells and they would occasionally go cloudy. Usually due to deep, unfelt earth tremors, even in the mid-South. We put some lime down the well to settle and clarify it. I'm not necessarily recommending that, but I would suggest that you contact your County Extension Agent who may be able to test the water for you and give you good advice on how to make it clear again.

It stirred up the dirt inside your water and that is what you are seeing. The only thing you can do is avoid washing whites, put a filtration system onto the kitchen faucet, maybe look into getting a filtration system for the house.

well you can go to the drug store and buy this water purifier you just put it in your drink and its clean but it may not taste good but you would rather drink something bad but clean right?
