OHHHHHHHHH I KNOWWWWW!!!!!!
How to make Fortune Tellertop
1 ...... Take a sheet of paper of the size A4 (8 1/2" x 11"). Paper used for ink jet printers will do.
Fold the upper half down on the red line.
2 ... Cut off the lower strip.
3 ...... The result is a square.
4 ...... Fold upwards on the red line and unfold.
The centre of the square is marked in this way.
5 ...... Fold four times, so that the corners of the square meet in the centre.
Folding on the red lines upwards is the same.
6 ...... It must look like this.
7 ...... Turn the paper over. The folded middle lines of the square are seen.
8 ...... Fold upwards again four times up to the centre.
9 ...... There is a half size square with four (actually eight) triangles, which meet in the centre.
10 ...... Turn the paper over. Four squares meet in the centre.
11 ...... Fold the paper backwards on the blue lines and unfold.
12 ...... Fold the square a last time. Hold the paper and push the upper corners in direction of the arrows.
13 ...... The figure on the left develops, if you lay the square sheets outwards.
The fortune teller is finished.
......
14 ...... Picture 1 shows the fortune teller from above.
Picture 2 explains the German name "Heaven and Hell":
In former times you coloured the half reverse side red for Hell, the other one blue for Heaven.

Some Mathematics top
While making a fortune teller and also after having finished it, you get two basic geometric forms, the square and the half square, which is an isosceles, right-angled triangle.
If you divide the square in two, you get two isosceles, right-angled triangle.
If you divide the isosceles, right-angled triangle in two, you get two isosceles, right-angled triangles half the size as before.
...... If you unfold the fortune teller, you have got a triangle pattern.
You can recognize 4x4 squares. Every square has a diagonal.
Blue means mountain, red means valley.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...... You can give the fortune teller double walls. Then go to step 10, add step 5 and 6 and continue with step 10.
If you go back to the square, the 16 small squares have got both diagonals.

Start by making a square piece of paper. To start making the square, fold one corner of a piece of paper over to the adjacent side.
To finish making the square, cut off the small rectangle, forming a square (which is already folded into a triangle).
Fold the two opposite ends of the triangle together, forming a smaller triangle.
Open the paper up (unfolding all the folds).
Fold a corner into the central point. Repeat with the opposite corner.
Repeat with the other 2 corners. You'll end up with a square.
Flip the paper over.
Fold a corner over to the center. Repeat with the opposite corner.
Fold over the 2 remaining corners. You'll end up with a smaller square.
Fold the square in half. Unfold and fold in half the other way.
Unfold and pull the four ends together, making a diamond-like shape. Pick up each of the four square flaps, and put your fingers inside. You will be able to move the four parts around.
Write any four colors on the four flaps.
Flip it over, and write 8 numbers on the triangular flaps.
Write 8 fortunes inside the flaps (underneath the numbers). Some examples of fortunes include:
You will get an "A" on a test.
You will be rich.
Good fortune will be yours.
You will have many friends.
Do a good deed today.
Someone will call you today.
You will go to a party soon.
Be careful on Tuesday.
You will have very good luck today.
You can now be a fortune teller. Have a person choose one of the four colors. Spell that color out, while moving the fortune teller in and out.
Then have the person choose one of the numbers that is showing. Move the fortune teller in and out the right number of times.
When you finish, have the person choose one of the four visible numbers. Open up the flap they choose, and read their

you start out by making your paper square(even on all four sides) then fold corner to corner and make a crease. then fold the opposite corner to corner and make a crease.now lay the paper flat and bring each corner so that the points meet at the center being very careful that the edges don't overlap.now turn over the paper so the folded edges are face down.now, fold the corners to the center the way you did on the other side, again being careful you don't overlap the edges.fold the bottom half ,up to meet the top half. then fold the opposite side so there is a crease. now stick your thumb and forefinger under the little flaps with the right hand and do the came with left hand. now all you have to do is put numbers on the top and colours inside and lift up the inner flaps to write the fortunes. I made one while explaining instructions and it came out fine. I just hope you can figure this out. it's not as complicated to make as it is to write it out.

This site has the directions for a dragon fortune teller. You can even print one out in full color, with the folding guide lines. Real easy to do, and really colorful.
