Somebody who will tell you the truth and look at you and care about the real you without all the social trappings. Usually they're loyal and understanding, but if you are really wrong they'll also tell you so and try to help you out so you can make things right.

Are there any truly? A real friend is someone who can agree with you on everything you think or debate with you and you can genuinely come to a common conclusion and work your way through life using that experience effectively.

A person who is there to listen, laugh, cry and share a shoulder for you at any time that you need that person! You can always call upon that person no matter what time of day it is cause you know that real friend will listen!!

extremely rare (especially today):
someone who wants to be your friend no matter what,won't suddenly find new friends when they feel they are "better".Will help when noone else is around (hard times).Doesn't expect more from you then you get from them.enjoys doing things you enjoy.won't gossip and backbite when your not around.etc.
